Dennis Nientimp

Interdisciplinary social scientist and musician.

I have a background in psychology, behavioral sciences and sociology. In my PhD I researched participation in community energy through a combination of social network analysis, computational methods and participatory modelling. Recently I applpied Agent Based Modelling and empirically informed Diffusion Models to derive testable hypothesis about the mechanisms that drive the adoption of sustainable practices and aid CEI in develeoping mobilization strategies. I applied such insights in co-creation projects, in which stakeholders act as co-researcher and we collaboratively develop CEI dissemination strategiies.

In the past I researched social interactions with and perceptions of robots at the Behavior Science institute in Nijmegen and I investigated behavior change interventions to promote sustainable food choices at the institute for Environmental Psychology in Vienna. In my bachelors I delved into computational linguistics, studying how kinematic movements support verbal communication, at the Max Plank institute for linguistics in Nijmegen.

That said I have broad interest in social scientific topics and beyond and I am eager to learn new methodology.
